S. C. Pecan Festival Performance

Mark your calendar for a great event in downtown Florence and join over 50,000 in attendance at the South Carolina Pecan Festival. Enjoy the day and hear live entertainment and visit the 250 food and craft vendors. But at 1:00 pm come in to the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church (right in the center of the festivities!) to hear the voices of both the Masterworks Choir and the Masterworks Children’s Choir.

A Masterworks Christmas: Arise, Your Light Has Come!

Our annual Christmas performances will feature twenty-two individual carols to celebrate the season – a special time of year like no other. The choir will sing many of your favorite carols, as well as a few new carols that are sure to become favorites. Join us as we once again journey to Bethlehem. Hear the angels break in upon our world singing “Alleluia to our King.” Celebrate together singing “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” Come early as we always experience capacity crowds at these performances.

Masterworks Children's Choir and Masterworks Choir Winter Concert

Enjoying great success in their fourth season of performances, the Masterworks Children’s Choir takes center stage at our Winter Concert to highlight the choral music of American composers. Selections span over a 200 year period, from William Billings, regarded as the first American choral composer, to new works by contemporary young composers. The concert will conclude with both young and more “mature” voices joining together in song.

Appealing to the Masses - A Requiem for Our Time

Johannes Brahms is often exalted as one of the “Three B’s” of classical music: Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. Our 41st season closes with a performance of Brahms’s A German Requiem. Considered to be one of the hallmarks of Western classical music, the Requiem joins together choir, soprano and baritone soloists, and orchestra for this finale concert. Experience with us one of the greatest works of choral art ever composed.
