Jaime Amanda Martinez

Jaime Amanda Martinez is Professor and Chair in the Department of History at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She has also served as Director of Children's Choirs at Central United Methodist Church of Florence since 2018; prior to that she was Director of Children's Music and Interim Christian Education Coordinator at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church in Scotland County, NC. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has a B.A. in History from Penn State University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Virginia. She has been working with children's choirs for nearly two decades, is a graduate of the Choristers Guild Institute's certification program for leaders of children's and youth choirs, and serves on the Presbyterian Association of Musicians' Presidential Advisory Council.
