Meet our director
Amy Dibble is the current director of the Masterworks Children's Choir. She is the general music teacher at Theodore Lester Elementary School where she directs two choral groups and a violin ensemble. She received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Houghton University in Houghton, NY. Throughout her career, Amy has directed a variety of choirs, instrumental ensembles, and musicals with students from Preschool to 8th grade. She is also the Children's Music Director at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Florence.
Meet our accompanist
Renée Taylor Orr began her musical training at the young age of 5 with piano lessons from her mother. In addition to her piano studies, band and chorus were big parts of her junior high and high school years. She continued her study of piano with several different teachers, ultimately receiving her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of South Carolina in 1982, where she studied with Raymond Dudley. While at USC, Renée also sang with the Concert Choir. Currently, Renée serves as the pianist and choir director for Southside Baptist Church in Florence. She also does accompaniment work for schools in Florence District One and for local voice recitals.
Meet our Children’s Choir Assistant
Chrissy Welch is a general music teacher at Greenwood Elementary School where she also directs the Greenwood Chorus. Many of her chorus members also participate in the Masterworks Children’s Choir. She received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Furman University in 2006 and a Master of Education degree in Integrated Teaching through the Arts from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2015. During her time at Greenwood, numerous music students have been chosen to participate in the SC Elementary Honor Choir and the F1S "Vocal Star" competition. Chrissy is an active member and frequent soloist for the Masterworks Choir and volunteers as an assistant with the Masterworks Children's Choir.
