A Masterworks Christmas

Our annual Christmas performances this year feature the Christmas Oratorio by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns and a relatively new work by Z. Randall Stroope entitled Hodie.  The Christmas Oratorio is an intimate work for choir, strings, harp, and organ and, offers us the opportunity to highlight seven soloists from the choir – Chrissy Welch, Tara McCormick, Dana Spencer, Shaw Thompson, Bill Hazelwood, Kevin McCormick, and Ray Taylor.

Hodie (This Day) is an impressive piece scored for choir, brass, percussion, and organ. The entire work is a symphony of praise and wonder over the birth of Christ on “this day.”  This piece will be directed by our newly appointed Assistant Conductor Kevin McCormick.  We will, as always, ask the audience to join us in singing several favorite Christmas carols.  We anticipate capacity crowds at these concerts, so plan to arrive early.
